🌟 Internship Spotlight: Avea Reyes 🌟

A behind-the-scenes look at the wedding industry! πŸ’βœ¨ Avea Reyes, a Communication Studies senior, is spending her internship as an Event and Activities Intern at Harper Hill Ranch, a beautiful wedding venue in Seguin, Texas.

Here's what Avea had to say about her experience:
β€œI am enjoying the experience as I am working at the venue. I enjoy getting to learn how the business operates before and during a wedding. I have learned that there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes of a wedding event and so many details to ensure the big day is successful in the eyes of the bride. I learned that in this industry, social networking is very important because you communicate with the bartenders, DJ, Sheriff, other vendors, and even the bride herself. It is rewarding in the aspect of being able to make connections with others, learn how a business in the wedding industry stays afloat, amongst other things.”

From coordinating with vendors to helping create unforgettable wedding days, Avea is gaining valuable experience in event management, professional networking, and client communication. Her internship highlights how strong communication skills are essential to bringing every detail together and creating memorable experiences.

🌟 Internship Spotlight: Meren Hogan 🌟

Meet Meren Hogan, a Communication Studies senior gaining real-world experience as a Sales Intern with Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits in Dallas, Texas! πŸ“ˆπŸ·

Here's what Meren shared about her internship experience:

β€œI would recommend this internship to others because I have learned so much already in a short amount of time. This internship has given me so much guidance on what I want to do after college, when before I was unsure. It has also provided me with so many resources. During this process, I learned how to network through a workshop and discovered how to connect with professionals on LinkedIn and build relationships within the company. I have learned how important those connections are. This internship is rewarding because I am learning so much before I have even started my career. It also feels rewarding because I am helping my mentors as much as they are helping me, and I am growing every day through the experience.”

From professional networking and relationship building to gaining hands-on sales experience, Meren is developing the communication and leadership skills that will help launch a successful career after graduation. We love seeing our students discover their passions while applying what they've learned in the classroom! πŸ‘
