TXST San Marcos Student Reading Council

The Reading Council at Texas State is an organization dedicated to promoting literacy.

This student organization is affiliated with the Texas Association of Literacy Education (TALE). Students who join the Reading Council also become members of TALE and have the option to join the International Reading Association at the student rate. Dr. Gwynne Ash, TxState Professor and International Literacy Association Board Member, will present on the importance of belonging to a literacy organization. Dr. Ash will also lead us in a Make-and-Take session.

We are currently looking to fill two positions on our executive board! Email us for an application!

Secretary- take notes at meetings, send out email reminders, help with bulletin board, print flyers, and keep track of member points

Treasurer- collect dues, mail memberships, keep track of spending and the organization bank account

Families are invited to wear your costume to the library for a morning of crafts, stories, face painting, and festive fun to celebrate Fall with guest readers from Texas State University. For all ages.
