Wonderful news to share with our Italian Studies at TXST community: Italian astronaut Luca Parmitano will serve as pilot for the Artemis III mission.

A beautiful reminder that the study of Italy is not only about history, art, language, and culture, but also about science, exploration, innovation, and Italy’s role in shaping the future.

Congratulazioni, Luca Parmitano! 🇮🇹🚀

Andiamo Ragazzi! 🇮🇹🍋

So excited to share Texas State University Education Abroad’s post about the start of our TXST in the Amalfi Coast program with Sant’Anna Institute, Sorrento and the Honors College at TXST.

This is what study abroad should be: language, culture, history, food, service learning, community, coastline, and those unforgettable “wait, this is class?” moments.

Our students are not just visiting Italy — they are reading it, tasting it, walking it, questioning it, and learning how place becomes part of education.

From Sorrento to the Amalfi Coast, from Barzini to basilico, from classroom discussion to real-world cultural immersion… this is experiential learning at its best.

Future Bobcats: come study Italy with us. The classroom has a sea view. 🌊📚

As artificial intelligence and digital technologies rapidly reshape how we learn, work, and communicate, many people are asking a fundamental question: what is our stance toward this new digital reality? This event invites the Texas State University community to explore that question together through dialogue, media, and creative expression. Event Highlights:
• Documentary screening featuring voices from Texas and Italy
• Interactive lecture and discussion with Dr. Sarah Hayes
• Launch of an international student art contest in collaboration with the University of Padova and the ETH-TECH project
• Small-group dialogue exploring AI, digital identity, and postdigital life This event is presented as part of the Education Is Boring series, a transnational Europe–US initiative that highlights creative approaches to learning and public dialogue. It is sponsored by the Department of World Languages and Literatures, with support from the College of Fine Arts and Communication, the Graduate Student Organization of the Ph.D. program in Adult, Professional, and Community Education, and the Office of Education Abroad, along with partners at the University of Padova.
