What’s growing in the San Marcos River?

Texas wild-rice (Zizania texana) is a federally endangered aquatic grass found only in this river. It helps stabilize sediments, filter water, and support native aquatic species.

Next time you visit the river, stay in designated swim areas and avoid walking through aquatic vegetation.

The River Education & Stewardship Alliance (RESA) works to connect our community with the science and stewardship of the San Marcos River.

EVENT CANCELED:
Hi everyone!

We have been dutifully following the weather forecast for this weekend’s Seasons of Science event, Wild about Walking. Unfortunately, Mother Nature is not planning on serving us with beautiful hiking weather. Instead, there is a chance of hail, strong winds, and pop-up thunderstorms.

Given our outdoor venues and the need to ensure the safety of our volunteers and guests, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this weekend’s event.

Keep an eye out for future events! Our next Seasons of Science event (Green Guardians) will be the first weekend of May (2nd & 3rd). We hope to see y'all there! 🌱♻️🌎
