Enjoying our afternoon playing different board games with our friends!

Our language activity this morning was to read our little books “Birds”. We read this book word for word together and then at the end it asks “what is your favorite bird?” So the kids then each answered with their favorite bird. Language development and developing reading skills.

Our math activity this morning was to use our balance scale to balance out different objects around the classroom with our math manipulative connecting cubes. We did this in groups of 3 and then at the end Mrs.Kamrin did it with the whole class so we could see which groups got close to the accurate number of cubes it took for each item.

Today’s activity for physical development is called Learning to Walk. We laid Mercurius on his back on the floor and exercise his legs. Objective begins to sit and balance with support.

Today’s activity for physical development is called Shadow Dancing. We placed the light from our flashlight on the floor and invited Kaylee to move between the floor and the light source. Objective is develops control of large muscles for movement, navigation, and balance.

Today’s activity for physical development is called Spider Fingers. Ms. Mia sat down with Violet and showed her how to wiggle her fingers to make spider fingers then we used the flash light to make a shadow. Objective is develops control of small muscles for manipulation and exploration.

Today’s activity for physical development is called Bubble Stomp. We laid out a piece of bubble wrap on the floor encouraged Riley to stomp on it to make the popping sounds. Objective is moves body to achieve a goal.

For our activity today, the students chose a number from 1 to 5 and they had to put clear sequins on the top of the number, with this activity they worked on their fine motor skills (princer grip).

For our Read-A-Loud we read “Sara Sidney’s Special Day”. After reading the story, we talked about the things Sara Sidney did on that special day, and what a special day is for each of us.

Today for our physical development activity we did, Letter Walk. Mrs. Monica made a large “W” on the floor and the students had to walk to letter according g with the speed of the musical instrument. Before this, we talked about words starting with the letter w and the sound of it.

Today for our social emotional activity we did, Itsy bitsy monkey. We sang this song and did the motions with it, we then discussed some things that scare us, like snakes or spiders. We also talked about the caution we need to have when we come up to one and what we need to do in the situation.
