Our Residential Camp students spent the morning learning from university professors and graduate students, working together to explore new ideas, tackle tough problems, and discover that mathematics is anything but ordinary.

The energy at Residential Camp is unmatched! 🎉

Our students hit the ground running, diving into classes, collaborating in study groups, and tackling challenging problems together. From thought-provoking discussions to exciting mathematical discoveries, every day is filled with learning, curiosity, and plenty of fun.

Math is more than numbers here, it’s creativity, teamwork, and the joy of exploring new ideas alongside friends who share the same passion.

Day 1 of MathWorks Junior Summer Math Camp is officially in the books, and what an incredible start it was! From our youngest mathematicians to our oldest campers, every level was filled with curiosity, creativity, and excitement for learning.

This is more than a math camp. It is a place where students build confidence, make friends, think deeply, and discover just how fun mathematics can be.

And this is only the beginning. 💙✨

They are the ones who encourage curiosity, celebrate perseverance, and help students discover that they are capable of more than they ever imagined.

This recognition celebrates the power of mathematics to inspire curiosity, build confidence, and open doors for students in our community. We’re grateful for our incredible partners at Texas State University, San Marcos CISD, and the City of San Marcos who continue to support meaningful math experiences for students of all ages.

Meet the Team: Dr. Eugene Curtin

Since the early days of MathWorks, Dr. Curtin has been a steady presence, teaching, mentoring, and challenging students to think deeper and push further.

From advanced Honors courses to student research and even a long-standing tradition of chess exhibitions, he’s helped create the kind of experience students never forget.

After decades in the program, one thing still stands out:
“The students, they’re talented, enthusiastic, and excited about math.”

And years later, many of those same students return as leaders, educators, and innovators, proof of the lasting impact of MathWorks.
