“I have dreamed of traveling all of my life and with that, the opportunity of learning in an unfamiliar country has always been a strong desire of mine.” ✈️🌍

Ryland, Exercise Science major with a minor in Business Administration, is heading to Padova, Italy as part of a study abroad experience that reflects a lifelong goal of traveling and learning in new environments.

For Ryland, receiving a scholarship represents the opportunity and financial support needed to make a long-term dream a reality while continuing to work toward future academic and career goals.

He is especially looking forward to experiencing a new culture and environment, while also building meaningful friendships and global connections during his time abroad.

His advice to future students:
“Start saving ASAP, work as much as you can, and apply to as many scholarships as you can. It is absolutely something that is achievable and will be well worth it.” ✨

“While I was in high school, my family had the opportunity to host three foreign exchange students. From that moment on I knew that I wanted to do some type of study abroad program.” 🌍✨

Kaitlyn, Public Relations and Digital Media Innovation with a minor in Theatre, is heading to London and Amsterdam as part of a program focused on visiting media companies and exploring the industry in an international context.

Kaitlyn shared that her early experiences hosting exchange students, along with working at a summer camp and at Disney World alongside coworkers from around the world, sparked her passion for learning about different cultures and perspectives.

She is grateful for the support of her family throughout this process and has also been working hard to help make this opportunity possible.

She is especially looking forward to networking with professionals in the media industry and learning what it is like to work for media companies in another country.

Her biggest goal is "to not take anything for granted, I want to try new things and just do everything that I can.”

Her advice to future students:
“Do your research and find out what program would be the best for you and your goals. I would also say you never know until you try! Put yourself out there because you might just have one of the best experiences of your life!” ✈️

Study abroad is about more than travel—it is about connection, curiosity, and discovering new possibilities for your future.

Our TXST in the Amalfi Coast Italian Language, Culture, and Honors program is officially underway in Sorrento, Italy! 🇮🇹🍋🌊

Students began their experience with orientation at Sant’Anna Institute, a walking tour through town, a beautiful welcome lunch by the sea, apartment check-in, and even a first class that included an Italian grocery store tour — an immersive introduction to daily life in Italy.

The group also visited the ancient city of Herculaneum, one of the most remarkable archaeological sites in the Bay of Naples. Preserved by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 CE, the site gave students the opportunity to explore Roman streets, homes, frescoes, mosaics, and everyday spaces while connecting their studies of Italian history, culture, and heritage to a real-world experience.

From the streets of Sorrento to the ruins of Herculaneum, students are already discovering Italy as a living classroom. ✨
