Meet this week’s , Chandler Lenkey! He graduated from CSUSM in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

After college, Chandler moved across the country to work with Northrop Grumman in Florida. “It was an incredible job with excellent opportunities for growth, but I felt a calling to make a deeper impact. After about two years, I packed my bags again and headed back to California to pursue a career as a Financial Advisor. I joined Merrill Lynch, quickly found success, and have never looked back. As a Financial Advisor, I focus on guiding my clients toward their most important financial goals—whether it’s retirement, purchasing a home, funding a loved one’s education, or creating a tax-efficient investment plan. It’s been an extremely rewarding journey, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

He said of his time as a student, “I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support, mentorship, and education I received at CSUSM. Every aspect of my time there played a role in my success, from my first general education speaking course to my senior capstone project.”

Chandler advises current CSUSM students “to get involved in extracurricular activities, whether that’s a club on campus, sports team, or Greek organization. Joining these groups helped me step outside my comfort zone, build leadership skills, and create lifelong friendships. The more you invest in your college experience, the more you’ll gain from it. College goes by quickly, so make the most of it and make it memorable.”

The California Alpha Gamma chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon from CSUSM was one of 5 chapters to be awarded with the certificate of distinction for Outstanding Chapter Achievement at the 163rd National Convention. Being a part of such an excellent and high-achieving organization has benefitted me in a multitude of ways, many of which I hope to implement in my professional career. I have learned so much about myself and about leadership during my time as chapter president and I am extremely proud to be part of such a great group of gentleman.
