Fresh air. Sunshine. Rustling leaves. Curious eyes.
These are the moments that remind us that childhood is meant to be explored—not rushed. Every walk becomes an adventure, every park becomes a place for discovery, and every season brings something new to notice.

Here's to slow mornings, autumn adventures, and wonder-filled childhoods.

12 YEARS OF LITTLE LAMBS

Today we celebrate 12 years of Little Lambs.

What a journey it has been—fabulous, difficult, uplifting, challenging, joyful, and sometimes disappointing. But through every season, I have remained so grateful to be called to this work and to have the privilege of being part of so many children’s childhoods.

Little Lambs has never been just Jay and me. It has always been a team effort—our family, our friends, every teacher who has poured their heart into this place, and every family who has trusted us with their children.

And, of course, the children.

For 12 years, they have filled this place with laughter, muddy hands, big ideas, friendships, curiosity, wonder, and so much joy.

There have been seasons when this work has stretched us more than we ever imagined, but there has also been so much beauty.

Today, more than anything, I feel grateful.

Grateful for 12 years.
Grateful for this calling.
Grateful for our Little Lambs family.
And grateful that we still get to protect the wonder of childhood every single day.

Happy 12th Birthday, Little Lambs.

Our explorers immersed themselves in baking today—not by following directions, but by researching, experimenting, observing, and learning alongside one another.
As ideas were shared, the dough changed, and so did their thinking. Friends noticed what the mixture needed, solved problems together, encouraged one another, and celebrated every discovery along the way.
This is what a learning community looks like. Every voice matters. Every idea has value. Every explorer belongs.

Our explorers are immersing themselves in the world of baking.

Within our learning community, children are experimenting, investigating, making predictions, and discovering how simple ingredients transform into fresh bread.

Every scoop, stir, knead, and rise is an opportunity to build confidence, collaborate with friends, solve problems, and experience the joy of creating something with their own hands.

At Little Lambs, we believe learning is richest when children are given the time, space, and freedom to wonder, explore, and discover together.

When adults see construction materials... children see a birthday cake.

A few traffic cones, wooden planks, tree stumps, and loose parts became the ingredients for a beautiful birthday celebration.

This is the magic of open-ended play. There are no instructions, no right or wrong answers—just imagination, collaboration, problem-solving, and storytelling.

At Little Lambs, our construction area isn't just for building structures. It's a place where ideas come to life, friendships grow, and ordinary materials become extraordinary adventures.

Childhood is full of possibilities when we give children the freedom to create.

Just a few chalkboards... and the children couldn't resist.

Sometimes the smallest changes create the biggest invitations.

By adding a few chalkboards to our mark-making area, children naturally gathered to draw, experiment, erase, write, and begin again. Every line, swirl, circle, and letter is meaningful. These early marks are the foundation of writing, communication, and literacy.

There were no worksheets. No prompts. Just an invitation to create.

This is how literacy begins—through play, curiosity, and the freedom to leave your mark.
