✅ Extending literally stops breaking pitches from leaving the zone.
❌ That slight bend in your arm? Costs you strikes.

Umpires SHOULD be calling it where it crosses . . . but where you finish helps them do their job 👀

Yes, there are some pitches we’ll need to give a bit and have some elbow bend, BUT, if you’re bending for EVERY pitch, you’re missing opportunities to frame closer to the zone.

My name is Tyler Aasland, and I’m a professional softball catcher⬇️

I’ve got some new faces here on my accounts, so it’s time to reintroduce myself!

I’ve been playing international pro softball for the last 5 years, and I’m currently living in Madrid, Spain for the summer 2026 season. My playing career has taken me to the Netherlands, Austria, Australia, Germany, New Zealand, Spain, and Mexico. 🇳🇱🇦🇺🇦🇹🇩🇪🇳🇿🇪🇸🇲🇽

While I play professionally, I mentor catchers all over the world through my remote training program, the Elite Catcher’s Gameplan, where I take my athletes through the same transformation that I’ve gone through post college.
