TXST students are taking the stage beyond the classroom! 🎭📚

TXST students Riley Benham, Cade Norman, Piper Smith, and Jay Stevens joined faculty members Bethany Corey-Ekin and Michelle Dahlenburg to co-present at the Drama for Schools Symposium hosted at The University of Texas at Austin on May 15, 2026.

Their presentation, Drama-Based Pedagogy in Community Settings: Story, Dialogue, and Embodied Practice, explored how drama-based pedagogy is shaping learning experiences and community engagement across Texas State’s Theatre: Performance & Production and Theatre: Teaching Certification programs.

Through story, dialogue, and embodied practice, their work highlighted the impact theatre can have both inside and beyond the classroom. Eat ‘em up, Cats!
