Hola Former Jumpstart Members and friends of Mike Murillo! I am not sure if everyone knows this, but there will not be a formal memorial service/funeral for Mike Murillo. So instead everyone is invited to the Posse East in Austin, TX this Sunday 04/28 from 12 pm to 3 pm. It is basically a get together where we have a few drinks, make a toast to Mike, and talk about our memories of Mike. This is a fitting venue since at least as long as I have been in the band The Posse East was the place Mike used to hang the most. It was his version of Cheers. I hope to see all of you there so we can give Mike a great farewell party so to speak. I guess this is Jumpstart's version of the "Second Line". I will get there around one pm and I hope to see all of you there. Thanks to all of you for all the great gigs over the years!
The Bat

A few years back I found a really easy way to lose weight. If you're a musician and especially if you're drummer you don't want to be lugging extra weight around. This has been a whirlwind of a week, and unfortunately a tragic one for me and my fellow bandmates among many others. My friend and bandleader of Jumpstart, Mike Morello passed away today. He was a great friend and musician. Mike was one of those guys who really knew how to put together a great band! He just had a knack for finding great players, and over the last 17 years I have played in this band I been privileged to work with some really outstanding musicians thanks to Mike. We have played some great gigs over the years, and after the gigs we typically would have a great hang. More often than not Mike would usually hang out while I packed up my drums and wait till I was loaded up and say hey let's have a beer. We would talk about music, the gig, and of course why all our clients (especially club owners) should pay us more money! LOL He loved Jumpstart, and put his heart and soul into this project. We will all miss him greatly. Jumpstart is no more because without Mike it just isn't the same. Mike has sailed on now, and I am thankful he is at peace. He had been having some health issues, and it just finally got the best of him. I guess it happens to us all eventually. See you on the other side, buddy! Rock on, Mike "Style" Morello and Rest in Peace. I am gonna miss you. (((^i^)))
