Congratulations to Dr. Bora and his team for winning the Popular Choice Award at the statewide Nucleate Texas Demo Day Final!

Their team, Noema-Laser, was one of eight finalists selected from accelerator chapters across Texas. Congratulations to our bobcat undergraduate students, Arjun Gyawali and Pawan Pradhan, for their hard work and contribution!

Bora’s achievement capped off TXST’s inaugural participation in the Nucleate Texas Activator program—an equity-free startup accelerator designed to help academic trainees and early-stage faculty bridge the gap between laboratory research and commercialization.

Texas State researcher Aniruddha Bora and his Noema-Laser team won the Popular Choice Award at the Nucleate Texas Demo Day Final, showcasing the university’s growing strength in biotech innovation.

Congratulations to CS students Vaidic Soni, Meidad Troper, and Kelvin Mathew for winning silver in the Google Maps Platform Hackathon! Nearly 4,000 teams competed from all over the world to create unique and innovative experiences using Google’s APIs and SDKs.

Their project, MagiCart, is an innovative tool designed to be a smart grocery assistant, leveraging AI-powered recommendations to personalize suggestions based on diet, allergies, budget, and store proximity.
