Rest In Peace!
Bob Westberg passed away very early this morning, May 17, 2026. Butch Davis had talked to him last night, probably about 12 hours before he passed. Butch said “When we talked, he seemed lucid and felt like he was getting the treatment he needed. The cause of death has not been has not been noted. After our last conversation, I figured you’d want to know.”

Remembering Jim Martin who passed away last Saturday, May 2, 2026. The time spent together in sports and hanging out, serving as ushers in our church and being great friends were special. He was there for our family when we lost my dad, my mother and my brother. God bless you Jimmy! Rest in Peace.

Hi, Bob. This is Pat Luebke, Jim Martin's sister. I'm texting to let you know that Jim passed away on Saturday. He died at home after being in the hospital for several days. As far as I know, there is no service planned. I'm probably the person writing the obituary, so I may have some questions about his sports history in high school. Thanks for being a good friend to him.

Rest In Peace my friend Jimmy. I will miss you forever. Bobby Pankey.

We lost another good friend and classmate recently. Here is a note from Dave Whitacre concerning Roger:
One of our classmates, class of 69, passed away yesterday--Roger W. Skaggs. Roger is on the Left Corner of this image.
He was my pal since the 4th grade. He passed away from complications from pneumonia, which was secondary to contracting the flu. He is survived by his wife Kate, son Erik and his wife and son and daughter, and son Kyle and his wife and two sons--so Rog had 4 grandkids. Rog was an authority on the population status of the endangered Peregrine Falcon in New Mexico, having done fieldwork on the species for years; he also taught multiple science and math subjects at a primary and 2ndary school in rural southwest New Mexico, for many years.

In preparing for a presentation our class President, Glen Freeberg, gave to the class of 1969, for our 25th reunion, a video of old CCHS. He walked through most of the building randomly videotaping. Said if he had known he was making a historical documentary he would have tried to do a better job. But as he said, he was using 30 year old technology and he just wanted some clips to set up jokes. He apologized for the quality and editing lapses and if you don't like the public domain music he added, feel free to turn down the volume. But with all the folks I have seen posting on Facebook if you miss the old building or have warm memories, Glen gives you this one, perhaps a last chance to walk the halls of CCHS once gain (1994 halls). The video ends with the viewer peeling out down High Street!
Hope it brings a smile - Glen Freeberg
