All forms of engineering are welcome to join our group from all different types of backgrounds. SME took a plant tour to NXP, a semiconductor (wafer fabrication) facility. At NXP, they were given the opportunity to learn more about the process and products they create: microcontrollers (MCUs), microprocessors (MPUs), power management devices, RF transceivers, amplifiers, and sensors.
We had an awesome time! Thanks to NXP for having us and to everyone who participated! Keep an eye out for our next tour.

Hello everyone! Just a little recap of the month of October. SME participated in the Soap Box Derby and took a tour of Samsung in Austin. Both events were a ton of fun! Students were able to gain industrial insight from the semiconductor manufacturing facility and learn more about the opportunities that were open to them. Here are some pics!

At the general meeting we had a guest speaker from Applied Material. He gave advice on developing career and introduced job opportunities at Applied Materials. Some students handed him their resumes and got interviews last week.
