A few weeks ago, Carol Gendel (left) and Barb Sulier (right) generously volunteered their time to host a nonpartisan voter registration drive at PIC. They helped encourage members of our school community to register to vote and reminded those already registered to confirm that their name and address were up to date.

✨ Live Acne-Calming Facial Demo ✨

Our students had the opportunity to learn from Tammi Chance Assaf, skincare specialist with Ca Botana, during this hands-on facial demonstration focused on calming inflamed acne.

This treatment featured:
•A gentle papaya enzyme to softly exfoliate without irritating sensitive skin
•A charcoal mask blended with Anti Ozone to help calm, soothe, and reduce the appearance of inflammation

Watching advanced techniques and professional product knowledge in action gives our students valuable real-world experience they can take into their future careers.

Palomar Institute of Cosmetology in San Marcos, CA (www.pic.edu) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Manicuring Instructor to join our team.
We are looking for an individual who has a passion for nails, education, and helping students develop the skills and confidence they need for a successful career in the beauty industry.
The ideal candidate will be a friendly, professional educator who enjoys mentoring students, creating engaging learning experiences, and inspiring future beauty professionals. Because our instructors work collaboratively across departments, candidates must hold a current California Cosmetology license and be willing to provide occasional support within our Cosmetology program when needed. The primary focus of this position, however, will be teaching and mentoring students in our Manicuring program. “Instructor training is available for qualified professionals who have a passion for education.”

The beauty industry has created opportunities for generations of students pursuing creative, service driven, and entrepreneurial careers.

A proposed Department of Education rule could impact access to federal financial aid for many cosmetology, barbering, and massage therapy programs, which could affect future students seeking these educational pathways.

This conversation is bigger than beauty school. It is about access, opportunity, small businesses, workforce development, and the future of an industry that supports millions of professionals and communities across the country.

We encourage students, graduates, educators, salon owners, professionals, families, and supporters to stay informed and make their voices heard during the public comment period ending May 20.
