It was a special moment at the College of Humanities, Arts, Behavioral & Social Sciences (CHABSS) graduation ceremony as Theresa Rios accepted a posthumous honorary degree on behalf of her husband, Dan Rios.
As chief photographer of the Escondido Times-Advocate, Dan Rios captured the images of San Diego County for decades. His legacy lives on through his extraordinary donation to CSUSM of more than 1 million photographs taken by him and other photographers during his time at the newspaper.

Congratulations, CSUSM Class of 2026! 🎓👏
Along the way, you studied, napped, used the computer labs, met with librarians, got creative in The Makery, and checked out books, chargers, and calculators. 🖥️ 🎨 📚️ 🧮
We are honored to have been part of your journey. ❤️
