Official account of the Texas State Ingram School of Engineering All programs lead to a bachelor of science degree.

The Ingram School of Engineering offers four programs:
Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. These programs are designed to be student-centered, and are structured to provide extensive hands-on experience. We also offer a master's program in Engineering, comprised of four separate concentration areas:
Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering.

Bobcat Welcome Week has begun! The Ingram School of Engineering & CoSE is hosting our annual New Student Open House tomorrow Tuesday, August 18th from 1pm-3pm in Ingram Hall! Here you will have the opportunity to tour the Makerspace, learn about the various programs, speak with our inspiring faculty, staff, and connect with ISoE affiliated student organizations! The Texas State University System Board of Regents has authorized the creation of the Ingram College of Engineering and the College of Science at Texas State University by subdividing the current College of Science and Engineering into two colleges positioning TXST to expand research, innovation and student success.

The reorganization will focus attention and resources within the Ingram College of Engineering toward several areas of research that are of increasing national importance:

• Replacing the former Department of Computer Science with the Creation of the School of Computing and Artificial Intelligence

• Replacing the former electrical engineering program with the Creation of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

• Combining the Construction Management and Concrete Industry Management programs into a single department; Department of Civil Engineering and the Built Environment

• Combining the mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering and industrial engineering programs into a single department; Department of Mechanical, Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering

• Replacing the former Engineering Technology Department with the creation of the Engineering Technology and Engineering Management Program

The Ingram School of Engineering at Texas State University is proud to celebrate Dr. Ariful Haque, Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering, on being recognized as one of the 2025 Emerging Leaders by the Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics—one of the world's leading and most prestigious journals in applied physics, published by IOP Publishing since 1968. This distinguished international recognition honors exceptional early-career researchers who have made significant contributions to the field of applied physics and have been identified by the journal's Editorial Board and the applied physics community as among the most exciting researchers of their generation (Dr. Haque is one of only 10 researchers worldwide selected for this recognition in 2025).

Dr. Haque's research at Texas State focuses on ultra-wide-bandgap semiconductor growth and characterization, laser-assisted semiconductor processing, and semiconductor heterointegration for advanced electronic and optoelectronic devices. His research is supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation and other federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Defense. This prestigious international recognition reflects Dr. Haque's growing impact in applied physics and semiconductor research and highlights the world-class research being conducted in the Ingram School of Engineering at TXST.

We would like to extend a huge congratulations to ISoE’s own Dr. San Hwang who has been awarded $70,000 from the City of Austin for the project, “TLAP Wastewater Effluent Land Application: Efficacy and Environmental Impacts.”

The objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of such applications by examining how the facility operational factors and the site environmental factors affect the extent of wastewater effluent management and the level of environmental protection.

Meet! Alok Parajuli ( ) a rising senior in the electrical engineering program (with a concentration in computer engineering) here at TXST.

He is currently an engineering & analysis Intern with Priority Power, in Arlington, TX. His responsibilities include working on grid infrastructure with the distribution engineering team, design and analysis of energy infrastructure projects including; substations, transmission & distribution lines, microgrids and solar generation.

We asked him about his experience so far he responded saying, “Great experience getting to work hands-on on actual high stakes power project(s), being part of a great engineering and analysis team helping clients get the best out of the situations.”

We caught up with her at her current internship as a Transportation Intern! Where her daily responsibilities are focused on roadways such as highways, bridges, sidewalks, etc. When asked about her experience so far she states, “It has been an interesting experience. It has led me to always be curious about how and what we do in this job, it is very fun!”

A week 1 recap from Italy, with Dr. Vega and her Italy Summer Hub cohort for the summer of 2026!

Here the students take a group picture taken at ‘Porta Portello” close to the University of Padova. And after a walk from their hotel, some down time to enjoy some authentic Italian Calzones. [Slide 1,2]

The students are at their classroom on the first day of classes learning about Statistics. [Slide 3]

Next the students are visited the Palazzo Bo where they learned about the history of the University of Padova and the important people that taught in such a prestigious university, such as Galileo Galilei. [Slide 4,5]

We had such a delightful time welcoming young Bobcats and families into our Ingram Hall Makerspace this past week for the annual Bring a Kid to TXST Day! We explored opportunities, experiences, and education available at Ingram School of Engineering, and treasured every moment with our kids. It is such a reward to be a part of this event and we are so grateful to Texas State University HR Department for organizing it!

Last month 27 Texas State University graduate students received awards from the P.E.O. International  Peace Scholarship (IPS) Fund  for the 2026-2027 academic year, making this TXST’s largest number of recipients in a single year. The previous record, 23, was set last year!
 Among the group 3 ISoE students were recipients of this scholarship, all masters students apart of our Civil Engineering Program!
