Fourth of July traditions vary across active duty, Reserve or National Guard, veteran, and civilian populations. For many within the military community, today marks the first victory of the nation. Today we celebrate that!

The last US troops have left Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, ending a nearly 20 year chapter in American history. You, the armed forces, have represented our country with honor and dignity. To all the men and women that have served our country, whether at home or abroad, we offer a sincere thank you for your service.

Derreca is a Military Connected Student (MCS) Guide who is exceptionally motivated to help students better themselves. She is very impactful in the Social Media committee for VASC at Texas State University. Thanks to her work, more people are up-to-date on the present resources available.
