What an incredible week at our Intensive Wrestling Camp at SMHS! 🤼🔥

We wrapped up an amazing camp, and I can honestly say every athlete who stepped on those mats leveled up. My own kids are still sore, which tells you just how hard everyone worked!

One of the best parts was watching our BWA wrestlers perform at a level we haven’t seen before. The growth, confidence, and intensity they showed throughout the week was incredible.

Coach Nathaniel brought a tremendous amount of knowledge to our athletes, but what impressed me just as much was the discipline he brought to the room. The kids were locked in from start to finish. Keeping the attention of over 45 wrestlers for multiple days is no easy task, but he had their full focus the entire camp.

Thank you to all of the athletes, parents, coaches, and supporters who helped make this camp a success. The hard work, sweat, and dedication displayed this week will pay off when wrestling season arrives.

Over 45 campers. Countless lessons learned. New friendships made. And a whole lot of growth.

What are your thoughts on this? Texas State announced the addition of women’s gymnastics as a Division I sport this week, showing a willingness to expand its athletic offerings. Should the Texas wrestling community view Texas State as the next potential target for adding wrestling as a sponsored varsity sport? There is already a thriving wrestling club program on campus, which could provide a strong foundation for building a successful collegiate program. What do you think?
