Welcome to Fall 2026, Bobcats! 🐾
Whether you’re stepping onto campus for the first time or returning for another great year, we are thrilled to welcome all TXST faculty, staff, and students back to San Marcos!
To help make your daily commute as smooth and stress-free as possible, here is a quick guide to navigating campus parking this semester:
Essentials to Know Before You Park:
- Residential Lots & Garages (Enforced 24/7): Residential assigned lots/garages are strictly reserved 24/7 for specific residential permit holders only including evenings and weekends. Unauthorized vehicles will be cited and towed.
- Permit Zones & ADA: Always park in spaces matching your permit classification. Accessible spaces, fire zones, and reserved spots are strictly enforced.
- Active Permits & License Plates: Ensure your TXST permit is active. Because Texas State uses License Plate Recognition (LPR), your license plate is your permit! Double-check that your vehicle info, state, and plate number are correct in the TXST Parking Portal to avoid citations.
Beat the First-Week Rush:
- Plan Ahead: Traffic is heaviest during the first few weeks, so give yourself extra time each morning.
- Ride the Bobcat Shuttle: Skip the driving stress! Track shuttle routes in real-time on the TXST Mobile App.
- Check Live Parking Availability: Download the ParkTXST App to check real-time lot occupancy before you arrive on campus.
Off-Peak & Evening Rules
Student permit holders can park in designated Employee lots during off-peak hours (check entrance signage for specific exceptions):
Mon – Thu: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Fri – Mon: 5:00 PM Friday through 7:00 AM Monday
(Note: Off-peak privileges never apply to Residential Assigned lots/garages.)
