California State University, Stanislaus, will begin the first two weeks of its spring semester remotely. Classes will be online until Feb. 14 because of a surge in Covid-19 cases on campus and in the region, according to an announcement on the school’s website last week. Indoor events through Feb. 14 will be postponed or moved outdoors. Local public health officials and the university’s COVID-19 response team recommended the move.
