Love to Learn Preschool At Love to Learn Preschool in San Luis Obispo, we provide a nurturing, engaging and secure environment for children ages 2-5.

We spend the day between our four classrooms, outdoor play areas, school playgrounds and the grass, engaged in a variety of activities from planned lessons/activities to story time, singing, arts & crafts, and playtime. We follow a developmental curriculum called Zoo-phonics that teaches children how to read, spell and write the alphabet through animal representation of each letter with visual, so

und and motion cues. We also incorporate a math program, called Number Corner, for our older students which correlates with San Luis Obispo School District curriculum. Number Corner features short daily workouts that introduce, reinforce, and extend skills and concepts related to the critical areas of study at each grade level. New pieces are added to the display each day, providing starting points for discussions, problem solving, and short written exercises. Our unique blend of learning and creative play allows us to effectively teach older children who are preparing to enter Kindergarten and yet still engage younger daycare-aged kids who might be entering an educational environment for the first time. Our daily program at Love to Learn is designed to enhance in children their natural curiosity about themselves and the world around them. Within each day, the children are exposed to Zoo Phonics, numbers, calendar, stories, art, music, science, dramatic play, and free play time indoor and out. There is a wide variety of materials in our class for all levels of preschool learning and imagination. Zoo Phonics helps support the basics of reading and through fun and simple games, children can become familiar with the steps to reading and writing. Through a daily art and music program, children can discover their own power to create and the fun they can have while doing so. The children are offered many experiences with practical life skills. They are responsible for the area in which they choose to work and associated clean up. And to develop social skills as well. In this environment, learning will take place naturally. Through all of this, we hope to instill a love for learning.
