A student-led idea is helping make grocery access easier for Mustangs! 🐎

Following a successful pilot last spring, ASI’s Grocery Tripper Shuttle now offers Cal Poly students free rides to local grocery stores twice a week. The shuttle provides a reliable option for students without cars, those with specific dietary needs and anyone looking for additional access to affordable groceries.

During its eight-week pilot, the service provided nearly 8,000 rides, connecting students from campus housing hubs to Trader Joe’s, Food 4 Less and Target.

The Grocery Tripper Shuttle runs Fridays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Learn more about this effort to support student well-being at the link below.

Know a student looking for an alternative to traditional study abroad? Cal Poly’s Alternative Breaks program offers students a unique opportunity to explore new cultures, gain a global perspective and put Learn by Doing into action through service. 🌍 💚

Last summer, 16 Mustangs traveled to Cape Town, South Africa, where they partnered with Film School Africa on community projects, explored the region’s rich history and built meaningful relationships across cultures.

For students eager to see the world, grow as leaders and make meaningful connections, Alternative Breaks offers a transformative experience beyond the classroom.

✨ Know a Mustang who might be interested? Encourage them to attend an upcoming Alternative Breaks info session to learn about next year’s service-learning trips to Peru or the Gulf Coast!

The Cal Poly Pier Open House is back! 🌊

It’s the perfect reason to spend a full day at Avila Beach and enjoy Cal Poly’s unique access to the Central Coast.

Students, parents, supporters and community members are invited to explore this Learn by Doing opportunity on the water from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Cal Poly Pier in Avila Beach.

At today’s special Mustang Family Weekend football game, we’re rallying around more than just football! 🏈

When Cal Poly students need emergency financial support, they can turn to Cal Poly Cares. The program provides one-time emergency grants to students who are navigating crisis situations. You can help ensure this program continues by supporting the Cal Poly Cares endowment. Once we raise $25,000, a generous Cal Poly parent donor will donate $50,000 to the endowment — tripling your gift! With an endowment, your gift will grow over time, ensuring future students will always have the help.

Mustang Family Weekend is ONE FULL DAY AWAY; here is what to expect! 🐎✨

Before you come to campus, prepare for the high temperatures this weekend by bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, a water bottle, and comfortable shoes! Don’t forget your Mustang Swag for our Photo Booth at Mustang Way!

🚗 Parking Info:

Your registration includes ONE complimentary parking permit!

Head to the Cal Poly parking link below and select “complimentary parking.”

Curious about how artificial intelligence is shaping learning, work and the future? 👀

Join Cal Poly faculty for AI Literacy for Parents and Families during Mustang Family Weekend! 🐎 💻

Discover how AI literacy at Cal Poly starts with communication, critical thinking and human judgment — not simply the tools. Families will see how AI is being explored in public speaking and general education, then learn about applications in business analytics and agricultural engineering. The session will also explore how prompting, sensor data and verified decision support can become useful tools, with time to ask questions along the way!
