We, in partnership with families and the community, plan for and promote the highest quality and accessible services for the care of all children and youth. The primary mission of the San Luis Obispo County Child Care Planning Council is to plan for child care and development services based on the needs of families in the local community. We serve as a forum to address child care needs of all fami

lies in the community for all types of child care, both subsidized and unsubsidized. Our responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct an assessment of child care needs every five years as funding permits
- Prepare local comprehensive countywide child care plans to address identified needs
- Identify local funding priority areas for child care services
- Conduct local forums
- Foster local partnerships in the community
- Host Quality Counts, San Luis Obispo's QRIS initiative

In addition, play helps with language, math and social skills, and even helps children cope with stress. Play is also just a fun way to expand children's imagination and creativity.
