For 2026-27 Cal Poly ASI President Tanner Schinderle, leadership is all about building belonging and creating opportunities for the Mustangs around him. 💚

Cal Poly News recently sat down with Schinderle, a fourth-year political science student, about why he got involved in student government, what his priorities are for his year in office, and how students and campus administrators can work together.

Who’s ready to soar down Colorado Boulevard? 🪿🌹

We're proud to share the design for Cal Poly Universities’ 78th Rose Parade float, “Soaring as One,” depicting a vibrant flock of birds soaring through a colorful sunset sky.

Created in collaboration with students at Cal Poly Pomona, the float celebrates the Tournament of Roses’ Parade theme, “Welcome,” sharing a story of inclusivity, acceptance and belonging.

From growing flowers and plants on campus to seamlessly concealing the mechanism that lifts and lowers a 2,000-pound blimp, this year’s float continues to showcase the innovation and teamwork required to create the parade’s only student-made float.

Mark your calendars for New Year’s Day and watch what happens when Learn by Doing takes flight. 🌟
