The beginning of the new school year brings new teachers, and new and old friends. Teachers welcome their students by being warm and inviting and modeling kindness, empathy and respect.
Beginning of the year activities often include collaboration, and group projects that allow the students and the teacher to get to know each other. Conversation develops social and communication skills. A comfortable environment encourages friendships to grow and a sense of belonging.

and hands on activities. Social skills are important as children grow. Parents and schools need to monitor screen time.
