GrC Word of the Week: Bleed 🖨️

In print design, bleed is the extra space around a design that extends past the final trim edge. This helps make sure printed pieces come out clean from edge to edge, without any unwanted white borders after they are cut. ✂️

It may seem like a small detail, but it makes a big difference in the final product. In GrC, students learn how to prepare designs that are not only creative, but also ready for real-world production.

Curious about what student leadership opportunities there are on campus? TAGA, a student-run competitive club, has started back up again for the semester! In TAGA, students compile, produce, and design a yearly technical research journal for international competition.

GrC Packaging students consider how branding, structure, materials, printing, sustainability, and clear communication work together to create a package that stands out and serves a purpose. From the moment it catches someone’s eye on the shelf to the experience of opening it, every detail is designed with intention.
