And that’s a wrap. 🏁💚
Formula SAE Michigan 2026 was one to remember.
From one of the smoothest tech inspections in team history, to strong performances in the static events, to adapting through challenges on track, this team continued to raise the bar. We earned 2nd Place in Endurance and finished 7th Overall—and for the EV team, that endurance finish marks only the second time Cal Poly has crossed the line in the event.
But as our Team Lead John reminded us, the results are only part of the story.
“I believe we have one of the strongest groups in the country when it comes to engineering design, manufacturing, and most importantly, team cohesion.”
The real achievement has always been the people behind the car: the late nights in the hangar, the design reviews, the long test days, the friendships built along the way, and the shared commitment to something bigger than ourselves.
“Protect that culture. When you’re grinding through the thick of it in the hangar, or getting kicked out of Frost at 10pm, remember that everyone around you is giving the best they have at that moment. Support each other through it.”
That culture is what carried us through every challenge this season, and it’s what will continue to drive this team forward. To our graduating seniors, thank you for everything you’ve contributed to this team and for the foundation you’ve left behind.
And to John: thank you for your leadership, your trust, and the example you’ve set over the last two years. You challenged us to do hard things, supported us through setbacks, and helped build a culture that makes Cal Poly Racing special. The impact you’ve had on this team extends far beyond any result.
As one chapter closes and another begins, we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, grateful for everyone who helped get us here, and excited for what’s ahead.
We’re just getting started. See you next season.🐎🏎️
