First day back to school = First PTA Meeting!! Come introduce yourself, get to know our PTA and upcoming events we have planned...we're excited to meet you!! We'll be meeting at 8:45 am on Thursday, 8/13 in the Grant School Library.

We had an awesome couple of Grant playdates this summer, but this one is just for our incoming TK and Kindergartners to get to know each other (and to become familiar with the TK/Kinder playground!). Of course, families/siblings are also welcome! Join us on Wednesday, 8/12 from 3:30-4:30 pm at the Grant Elementary TK/Kinder playground (you won't be able to miss it!). The TK/Kinder Orientation will immediately follow at 4:30 pm.

Wow!! Summer is almost over and it's time for Back to School!! 📚🍎✏️ Join us for our annual Chalk the Walk 🎨🖌 Wednesday, August 12th from 4-6 pm to help us make our sidewalks warm and welcoming for the first day of school!

We'll have popsicles, a food truck available with tacos available for purchase, staff on hand to help with enrollment if needed and more! (The first day of school is Thursday, August 13th.)

Join us this Monday, August 3rd, at the Arroyo Swim Center for an informal Grant School playdate from 1:30-3:30 pm. All kids under the age of 8 must be accompanied one-on-one and within arms length by an adult in the water at all times. This is the free public swim time so of course all are welcome!

Calling all Grant Students!! We're having a summer playdate Friday, July 10th from 10 am - 2 pm at Bay Area Discovery Museum.

Every Grant student received a pass for 5 people to get in and we thought it would be fun to go together!!

For NEW or INCOMING GRANT STUDENTS, if you meet us at the entrance at 10 am we can get you in for free also!! We would love to meet you!! This is the perfect opportunity especially for our younger kids to get to know others that will be at Grant!!

If you plan on coming, please private message or comment to let us know how many to expect!! Thank you!!

What an amazing day it was for our 5th graders who promoted 🎓! Two amazing performances of a dance and a collaboration speech! In the evening some families went to Golfland ⛳️to celebrate! We are so proud of our dolphins 🐬!

WE LOVE OUR GRANT ELEMENTARY STAFF!!! And that includes everyone!! Our custodians, counselors, office staff, CSAs, music and art teachers, aides, Boys and Girls club, cafeteria workers, principal, teachers and tech support...our Grant community wouldn't be the same without you!!

To celebrate this week PTA (huge thank you to all your generous donations during our fundraisers so we could do this!) will be stocking the Staff Lounge every day with snacks and drinks that correspond with the theme of the day...hopefully a paper went home with your student on Thursday, but if not here are the themes!

Monday: "Oh the Places You'll Go!"
Dress for Adventure! Wear a shirt, hat or accessory from your favorite destination or dream travel spot! Show where you are going!

Tuesday: "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie"
Pajama or mouse day! Come in your coziest pajamas or wear mouse ears

Wednesday: "The Days the Crayons Quit"
Wear your class color from head to toe!
TK/K - Red
1st - Orange
2nd - Yellow
3rd - Green
4th - Blue
5th - Purple

Thursday: "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"
Write or draw a note for your teacher or staff member telling them how they helped you grow this year.

Friday: "Dragons Love Tacos"
Draw or decorate a paper taco and write a personal thank you message for a different staff member. Let them know they are appreciated!!
