Class of 1972 lost another classmate. I was just informed that Nick Chinn passed away.

“Nick passed away this past February 2025. He passed away from natural causes. The medical examiner concluded he had arterial sclerosis and some level of kidney failure. Nick enjoyed his last couple of years in San Jose, Aptos, and back in San Jose off Saratoga Ave. He continued to enjoy his expensive coffee, following hockey, women's sports, and popular culture.”

Pam Cach (Pamela Parkins Cach) passed away unexpectedly 4/10/25 from a heart attack. Her cousin posted the news on Facebook late this evening (April 10). I am deeply saddened and shocked by this news. Pam was one of my first friends at Marina High during my freshman year. My sincerest condolences go out to Mike Cach, her sister Cynthia , and the rest of her family. I will update this post when I receive more information. Rest in Peace Pam… 😢

We received notification on Monday that another Class of 1972 classmates passed away. Michael Freitas passed away at his home in Stockton on March 5, 2025. Our deepest condolences to his family and close friends. Rest in peace Mike Freitas.

Class of 1972 lost another classmate yesterday, Oct. 22.

Jim Gabriel passed away at his daughter’s home in Oregon.

His daughter posted this on Facebook tonight:

“With so much pain and sadness in my heart I just need to let everyone know that my beloved Dad Jim Gabriel passed away last night, at my home in Phoenix, Oregon. He was surrounded by his closest family at his time of rest. We need to get through these next few holiday months before we have a celebration of life, so after the new year we will plan a party, which is what he would have wanted.”

Class of 1972 classmate Keith Winner passed away this morning (May 23).

I received this note from classmate Bob Hallock through the Classmates site:

“Keith Winner passed this morning from a stomach aorta rupture. Friday he coded twice and they gave him 30 units of blood. Today he kept coding and we lost him. “

He has been living in the Newark, CA area. If I find out information regarding a memorial service, I will also add on that information.
