The SHADOW Team’s outstanding demonstration at the 2025 Kajukenbo Association of America Celebration (Part II)

Two of our fiercely dedicated warriors came together to present this very special fan form to Ga***rd sisters Charlene, Vanessa, and Sigung Kelly in honor of Great Grandmaster Ga***rd. They wowed the crowd with their truly impressive unity, creativity, and graceful power with this Lua O Nā Koa kajukenbo-style Chinese fan form, broken down, studied, reworked, and refined for months and months leading up to this gift of a performance. We could not be any more proud of them.

Join us for a memorable day of training, fellowship, and celebration as we honor the life, legacy, and teachings of Great Grandmaster Charles H. Ga***rd.

For nearly six decades, this special gathering has brought together students, instructors, families, and friends from across the KAA ʻOhana to celebrate the values that Great Grandmaster Ga***rd embodied—respect, humility, perseverance, and service to others. More than a workout, this event is an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, welcome new faces, share stories, and strengthen the bonds that unite us through Kajukenbo and the Ga***rd Method.

Rooted in the Hawaiian spirit of aloha and ʻohana, we come together to train, learn, laugh, and celebrate the traditions that have been passed down through generations. Whether you are stepping onto the mat or simply joining us for the festivities, you are part of a living legacy that continues to inspire and grow.

Following the workout, enjoy our annual picnic, witness important promotions and spend time together as a community. Bring your family, your training partners, and your KAA spirit as we celebrate another year of honoring Great Grandmaster Ga***rd and the enduring strength of our ʻOhana.

Lua O Nā Koa Den of Warriors celebrated Kristen and Kekoa’s growing ʻohana with the most epic fight: Sensei Donavan representing Team Boy vs Sifu Willie representing Team Girl. This is just the highlight reel—they battled it out for 10 minutes in a no-holds-barred match to reveal the gender of the baby! Aggressive Sparring Workshops are every Saturday, 2-3 PM 🥊 You will develop better timing and balance, solid defense, as well as efficient fighting strategies for striking, takedowns, and groundwork. All techniques will be stress tested in live force-on-force scenarios.

Super Hero Academy Den of Warriors trained rigorously over the course of many months, eager to perfect advanced techniques and new forms. Watch as students showed their skill, strength, and self-control with their kajukenbo self-defense and displayed creativity and unity in their iconic SHADOW Form 3. They really outdid themselves this time.
