Today, our Special Education Department gathered for our 80s-themed End-of-the-Year Staff Luncheon to celebrate a year filled with dedication, teamwork, and making a difference in the lives of our students. From great food and plenty of laughs to fun games, prizes, and friendly competition, the day was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the incredible people who make our department shine. πΆοΈπ΅π€

β€οΈβΎοΈ The Special Education Department would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Tiffani Galaviz and Liberty Middle School for organizing and hosting an amazing 6th Annual All-Star Event! βοΈ Our exceptional middle school students enjoyed a day filled with fun, teamwork, smiles, and unforgettable memories at San Juan Municipal Park. β¨ Thank you to the City of San Juan, San Juan Parks & Recreation Department, San Juan Fire Department, our staff, student mentors from the High School Softball & Baseball teams, families, and all of our sponsors for helping make this special day possible. β€οΈ We are grateful for the continued support and opportunities to celebrate our exceptional students! πβΎοΈ βοΈ

We are beyond proud to officially finalize the entry of our student, Karolina, and teacher, Mr. Matt, as Special Olympics-Texas Team Texas delegates! Karolina will be competing in powerlifting and Mr. Matt will be coaching the Team Texas Powerlifting Team πππͺπ»
They will proudly represent Texas and PSJA ISD at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis, Minnesota this coming June! πΊπΈ
π₯It is also an RGV first to have a school district represented at the national level!! Special thanks to our PTI Principal: Mrs. Hernandez; PSJA ISD Special Education Director: Ms. Quintana, and SOTX Region 1 Director: Ms. Ytszel, for their unwavering support and encouragement! π
