Our Fall container vegetable garden workshop was a great success yesterday! Thank you to our Master Gardeners Letty and Margo for providing valuable educational information to our community. And thank you to those who attended, we look forward to hearing about the success of your gardens.

👏 We would love to give a shout out to our fellow Master Gardeners Jeannie, Sarah, Sylvia, Rick, Amelia, Janet and Andrea who were all up bright and early at the garden tackling those pesky weeds. Look at how they deweeded the path! 🎉👏 Our Garden is incomplete without the heart and soul of our members. Thank you for volunteering your time.

The sale will be held at our South Texas Master Gardener Educational Garden located in North San Juan park, 509 E. Earling Road in San Juan. In honor of National Heart Health Month & Read Aloud Week, Dr. Ida read her book, ‘The Cat Who Ate Spinach.’ It is based on a true story of a tabby cat who loves spinach.
After her book reading, there were spinach chocolate chip cookies available to try and they were a big hit with the kids. They even came back for seconds!


We would like to give a warm welcome to 2022 Texas Master Gardener interns David Stohl, Ricardo Cantu, Hilda Cantu and Rocky Guzman. With the help of our resident cat Gigi, they toured the educational garden and learned about the variety of plants that we have here.

Tree Care Training Course
January 25-28, 2022
This course is open to the general public and to professional arborists. All aspects of tree care are presented as well as covering the entirety of the of International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Arborist Study Guide book. The course is presented by a team of ISA Certified Arborists from the Rio Grande Valley and San Antonio. This course prepares arborists for the ISA Certified Arborist examination.
