A few days away from the normal routine gives our junior high students something pretty special—time. Time to laugh with friends, connect with teachers, try new things, worship together, and go deeper in their faith.

There’s plenty of fun at retreat, but underneath it all, something meaningful is happening: friendships are growing, relationships are strengthening, and students are discovering what it looks like to follow Jesus together. 🤍

Some moments are hard to put into words. Retreat is one of them.

There’s something powerful about having our entire high school together in the mountains—away from the normal rhythms of school—with time to draw closer to the Lord and to one another.

And then there are the moments in this room. Students worshiping together. Arms around friends. Hearts open. You can sense the Lord at work—pursuing hearts, preparing them, and reminding our students who He is and who they are in Him.

Parents, when your student gets home, ask them about retreat. Ask them about worship. Ask them what God showed them.

Then just listen. 🤍

Our Junior High has its first competitive surf team. They’ll compete against other schools in Scholastic Surf Series competitions this season. Judging by practice #1, these Eagles look right at home on the water. 🌊🤙

Our 2026 AP results are in — and our Eagles soared.
CVCS was named to the Platinum level of the AP School Honor Roll, the highest distinction awarded — earned by just 1,257 schools nationwide, or 8% of those eligible. Our students posted an 81% AP pass rate, 21 points above the national benchmark, with four courses — AP Calculus AB, AP Precalculus, AP Human Geography, and AP 2D Art & Design — earning a perfect 100% pass rate. In total, 214 AP exams received a college-level score of 3 or higher.
Numbers like these don't happen by accident. Congratulations to our students for their hard work and dedication, and to our teachers for pushing them to get there — WE ARE CVCS!

Little Eagles + Friday Night Lights + their High School Cheer & Song role models = pretty much the cutest sideline situation we’ve ever seen. 🦅❤️

Today, we remember.

We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, the heroes who ran toward danger, and a nation that grieved together.

Each year, our 8th grade students have the profound opportunity to stand at the 9/11 Memorial—to see the names, witness the place where history unfolded, and understand that September 11 is more than a chapter in a textbook. It is a story of real people, extraordinary courage, unimaginable sacrifice, and lives that must never be forgotten.

Twenty-five years later, we pause to honor them.

May we remember with gratitude. May we teach the next generation with reverence. And may we continue to pray for the families who carry this loss every day.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸
