πβ¨ Honoring Indigenous Peoplesβ Day β¨π
Today, we recognize and celebrate the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe, the original stewards of the land where SJSU now stands. For generations, the Tribe has practiced Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) β a way of caring for the land rooted in reciprocity, respect, and balance with nature. πΏ
As we face the challenges of climate change, these practices remind us of the importance of restoring harmony between people and the environment. The Native American way of caring for the land continues to guide efforts toward a sustainable and just future.
ππ On this day, we honor the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe and their leadership in restoring the homeland and protecting the natural world for future generations.

Today, we recognize Zero Emissions Day! While one day can't solve everything, it's a powerful reminder of our collective impact on climate change. This is our chance to give the planet a breather and consider more sustainable choices.
Here are a few ways to get involved today on campus:
π² Skip the car. Walk, bike, or take public transit for your daily commute.
Unplug. Power down electronics when you leave your dorm room or office.
π₯¬ Eat green. Try a plant-based meal at the dining hall or local cafe.
