Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. Did you know that PAPA has a very special fundraiser this Thursday? 😄 We are selling concessions at Graduation! AND WE NEED YOU! (Please!) We have a lot of graduating senior PAPA parents (who will be watching graduation/taking pictures/celebrating), so we REALLY need our freshmen, sophomore, and junior parents and students!!

Signup in the ivolunteer- Especially for:

- picking up ice on Thursday 8-8:30 at Starbucks at Union. This has been scheduled with the manager at 408-442-6345. (You pick up the large PAPA cooler from school on Wednesday, and they fill it on Thursday.)

You can also request ice from Blvd Coffee on Los Gatos Blvd. Schedule this by calling 408-356-4665. “I’m calling about a fundraiser at Leigh High School. I’m calling to request an ice donation for pickup on Thursday morning.” (You pick up the large PAPA cooler from school on Wednesday, and they fill it on Thursday.)

** AND/OR loan a cooler prestocked with a 20 lb bag of ice - drop off at 1:30, pick up at the end of graduation.

- Donate a case of water, soda, or ice tea! This will be the main thing we are selling at the 4 pm graduation.

- Loan a wagon to help get the drinks to the stadium

- Parent and/or Student volunteers: help set up tables and the pop-up shade

- Parent and/or Student volunteers- sell water and snacks before and during the ceremony.

2023 PAPA Graduation Fundraiser

The Tri-M Music Fest is THURSDAY night (5/18) at 7pm in the PAC! Come watch your classmates show off their talents at the biggest student-led concert of the year! This year’s set list includes songs by Billie Eilish, Lizzy Mcalpine, Boygenius, Black Country New Road, Stephen Sanchez, and more! A portion of the proceeds goes to supporting PAPA. See you there!

Second Annual Tri-M Music Festival This is the second annual benefit concert produced by Tri - M. Tri - M is a student organization the produces this festival with both students leading as well as performing in order to benefit the club as well as music charity programs.

Volunteers are needed for the Longhorn Stampede 5K! We have many opportunities available including, set-up, clean-up, t-shirt pick-up, course marshal (directing runners), passing out water, and more.

Volunteers will receive an awesome Stampede T-shirt (while supplies last)! Coffee and bagels will be provided!

We are in particular need of adults to sign up for the role of Course Marshal. This role involves standing at an assigned location along the route and directing the participants. This is a critical role as, per the City of San Jose, our event cannot happen unless we have 36 Course Marshals on the course. We currently only have 11 slots filled. If you live along the course, please make a note in the comments of your closest intersection and we will do our best to place you at that intersection.

We invite you all to join the 7th annual Leigh Longhorn Stampede 5K Run/Walk on May 20th! This is a community celebration, bringing together students, staff, current & incoming families, alumni, neighbors, and friends. Proceeds will benefit all Leigh students. The race starts outside Leigh HS and ends in the quad. T-shirts are guaranteed for those who sign up by end of May 4th.

Scholarship essay READERS needed!

Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior performing arts parents - please sign up to read and rate essay submissions for PAPA Scholarships. Sign up by April 15, to review submission from April 15 to April 30.

PAPA Performing Arts Scholarships are now available for senior students!

- Are you a performing arts Senior student?
- Do you feel your participation in the performing arts program at Leigh affects your high school experience?
- Do you have thoughts on how the skills and knowledge you gained through this program will help you as you graduate and continue your education?

Then this scholarship is for you!

PAPA is awarding scholarships in three program categories:

(1) Theater
(2) Choir
(3) Instrumental Music, including Marching Band/Color Guard/Winter

All you need to do is answer the essay questions following the MLA style guidelines (Not too long - No more than 3 pages!)
