Greetings Cirque SJ Families,

Happy new year, I hope you are all well as we step into a fresh new year in 2026. A few of you have emailed us already asking about plans for camp this year. This email contains some information regarding upcoming 2026 plans for Cirque San Jose, as well as upcoming juggling and circus festivals we hope you join us in attending.

2026 Pause for Cirque SJ Summer Camps
This year we're making the difficult decision to not host any summer camps. As Cheryl is retiring this year, Chris will be planning and transitioning Cirque SJ for future years to come. He will need at least a year to set everything up so we hopefully come back strong next year to continue a fun summer camp for your families and kids. We are currently looking to build a new team of camp admins to divide the work between. If interested in being on the planning team, please contact us at [email protected].

We also still have some video from last year's camp shows that we are in the process of editing; we will share as soon as available.

2026 All Stars Show & SJ Circus Festival
With our decision to not run summer camp this year, we are still planning to do a focused All Star Show sometime in the summer. We are also in the beginning stages of organizing a 3 day juggling/circus arts festival either in San Jose or Santa Cruz, potentially where we will debut the All Star Show. More information will be available in the second quarter of this year as Chris and Cheryl plan the show and festival. We are planning to reach out to campers who have attended camp with us for a few years to be a part of the show, stay tuned!

Monthly Circus in the Park Meet Ups
Chris is planning to host free Circus in the Park meet ups once a month on the weekend. We will bring out props for people to use during the meet up, and host small workshops.

This month we will host the monthly meet up in conjunction with the free to attend Game of Throws Juggling festival Jan 23-25th in Palo Alto's Gunn High School. There will be workshops, games, and a Gala Show stacked with top talent including one of the best jugglers on the planet Wes Peden. This is a festival you will definitely want to attend! San Jose Circus Classes and Workshops
While we aren't hosting camp this summer, there is still access to year long classes. Our aerial teacher Soo Hom teaches at Studio M where you can still learn with her to improve your aerial skills. Chris is talking with the City of San Jose to offer an ongoing juggling and diabolo class, and he also offers private lessons. He will be offering multiple pop up workshops with Viva Parks SJ, Viva Calle SJ, some evening classes with the city at St James Parks, and monthly meet ups as mentioned above. In addition, he is in talks with San Jose State about reviving their juggling club meetings. Upcoming California Juggling & Circus Festivals
If you've never attended a juggling/circus festival it's highly recommended! They usually offer workshops, shows, and a great way to meet new people and skill share. More often than not, these festivals are usually very affordable if not free to attend, and welcome both kids and adults. Below is a brief list of festivals coming up this year.
