www.amigoscenter.com/ipenToday, Cristo Rey President Silvia Mahan stood with fellow school and community leaders at the Santa Clara County Government Center for a "No ICE in Schools" press conference.

Silvia attended as part of the Protection & Empowerment Network (IPEN), a network bringing together 18 school districts, local organizations, and county leaders to ensure schools remain safe havens for all students and their families.

Cristo Rey San José is grateful to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with IPEN partners in advocating for every student’s right to learn and thrive in an environment that is safe, welcoming and protective of all students and families.

What a powerful end to the first week of school for the Cristo Rey San José community! 🎓🕊️

Last Friday, seniors stepped onto college campuses at UC Davis and Sacramento State University. They got a firsthand look at university life, academic programs, and the exciting possibilities that await them after graduation. 🎓✨

Meanwhile, back on campus, students, faculty and staff came together to celebrate our first Mass of the school year—the Mass of the Holy Spirit. Grounded in our Jesuit tradition, the Mass allowed all to invoke the Holy Spirit's guidance, blessings, and wisdom over students, faculty, and staff for the year ahead.

Scroll through the photos below to see the Class of 2027 exploring campuses and the CRSJ community coming together in prayer! 📸👇

New school year, new focus. 🎓✨

Our theme for 2026–2027 at Cristo Rey San José Jesuit High School is "Finding God in All Things."

Chaplain Father George Wanser, SJ reminded our school community that no matter your background or faith tradition, remembering that God is Love allows us to find love in everything we do.

We recently asked our students: Where do you find God? From ‘finding God in gratitude to finding God in dogs (because they bring happiness), check out some of their answers.

It's the first day of school at Cristo Rey San José Jesuit High School! 📚✏️ All the smiles indicate the year is off to a great start!

President Silvia Mahan reminded staff that, "This first week of classes will no doubt bring many opportunities to take a brave step toward Jesus. Let us be brave as we create the loving space where our students can grow and where they, too, can take brave steps toward Jesus. Happy first week of school!"

Principal Andria Saldivar welcomed students, "We hope you find God all around you at home and in your community, but especially here at CRSJ ... We got you; you got this; and we hope you have a great year."

Before the first bell of freshman year rings, Cristo Rey San José's newest Lions are already building the foundation for four years of success!

Summer Bridge is a required four-week program for every incoming 9th grade and transfer student at CRSJ. Along with core academics and executive functioning skills, students get an early introduction to the Corporate Work Study Program, including a networking workshop and a culminating Partner Expo, where they meet potential supervisors from among the 100+ businesses that host the young professionals each year.

Students also complete their first retreat, including a service project and their first CRSJ Mass, and get an early look at the athletics, clubs, and culture that will define their next four years.

Today marks the feast day of St. Ignatius of Loyola, Founder of the Society of Jesus and the inspiration of the mission we live each day at Cristo Rey San José Jesuit High School.

Nearly five centuries later, Ignatian spirituality defines how we form our students to be people for and with others, who live out a faith that does justice, and who find God in all things.

St. Ignatius, pray for us as we carry your mission forward. 🙏🏼

Are you ready to be inspired? Meet ten Cristo Rey San José students who trained all summer to cross the finish line at the San Francisco Marathon last weekend with South Bay Youth Runners, a program launched by CRSJ Coach Juana Galvan.

Coach Galvan knows the impact firsthand. As a middle schooler in Los Angeles, she joined Students Run L.A. and ran her first marathon in the 7th grade, an experience she credits with building the confidence that carried her through UC Berkeley and a master’s degree at the University of San Francisco. Now, she’s creating that same opportunity for CRSJ students, while imparting life lessons in perseverance.

From training in East San José to crossing that finish line together, every single runner met their goal through hard work, commitment, grit and tenacity. Congratulations to these CRSJ Lions on this incredible achievement!
