It’s ok to be honest. You love being a school leader AND you’re already exhausted.
 
We’re in the first month of the year and as excited as you are to be a school leader, the energy output required is draining.
 
You’re on the go from the moment you pull into your parking lot until you rest your pretty little head onto your pillow at night.
 
Meeting after meeting.
Question after question.
Decision after decision.
 
Problem to solve after problem to solve.
 
I remember those days well.
 
And I’ll be honest with you.
 
The energy output requested of you will NEVER subside.
 
There will always be some problem to solve, someone to help, and something to decide.

Being efficient means you have routines in place.
Being effective means you have routines in place that WORK.

Empowered Principals are conscious about their routines.
They are intentional with their routines.

They choose routines that expand their capacity.
They choose routines that evolve their identity.

Not in a way that forces them.
In a way that REINFORCES who they desire to be.
