FYI - SJSU Approves Optional Credit/No Credit Option for Spring 2020

Students may opt into credit/no credit grading for Spring 2020 courses instead of regular grading. Graduating students, may opt in by May 1, 2020 (if you need grades posted immediately). All other students encouraged to wait to opt in until after grades have been posted.

FYI - Temporary Change to Academic Disqualification at SJSU

1) ACADEMIC PROBATION: For Spring 2020, Academic Disqualifications due to low GPA will not be processed at either the graduate or undergraduate level. Instead, students will be placed on continued probation.

2) ADMINISTRATIVE DISQUALIFICATION: Approved request by a program or department for Administrative Disqualification, will be processed according to the existing process defined in university policy.

3) ACADEMIC PROBATION PLACEMENTS: Undergraduate students whose SJSU cumulative GPA falls below 2.0 and graduate students whose SJSU cumulative GPA falls below a 3.0 [Spring 2020] will be placed on Academic Probation as usual.

On Friday, April 17th and Saturday, April 18th, Google will gather 50 engineering and computer science students from across the US and Puerto Rico for our fourth annual Hispanic Student Leadership Summit (HSLS) in partnership with the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) and Computing Alliance of Hispanic Serving Institutions (CAHSI). Google’s HSLS was created as an effort to bring Latinx leaders together to share innovative and creative best practices with one another, as well as collaborate with Google’s Latinx leadership to benefit your university, organization, and community. We would love to see some of the student leaders from your organization represented!

Who: Undergraduate student leaders with a passion for tech and an interest in growing their leadership

When: Friday, April 17th and Saturday, April 18th

Travel days: Thursday, April 16th and Sunday, April 19th

Where: Google Office in Austin, Texas

What: The agenda includes breakout discussions, networking with the Hispanic Google Network, student group presentations, and a unique celebration for Summit attendees!
