We are very excited for the new therapeutic day school, ACTIAS, to open next semester! This is a school for bright, curious teens whose anxiety, school avoidance, neurodivergence, or other mental health needs are getting in the way of accessing school successfully. The program brings together individualized college-prep academics, integrated therapeutic support, executive functioning, strong relationships, and significant nature-based and experiential learning. The goal is not simply to get students attending school again, but to help them rebuild confidence, engagement, and the skills they need for life beyond high school. Dolly's father was not able to read. This inspired her to develop an organization, Imagination Library, to support early literacy by providing free books to children. While this started in her hometown in Tennessee, it now helps communities world-wide. Sending a very special Happy Birthday to one of our fabulous Educational Specialists, Yulia!

Yulia is currently an Educational Therapist Candidate through UCSC Ed Therapy program, she provides ongoing academic and executive functioning support to students and adults ranging from 3 years to adulthood. She is known for her dedication to individualize her sessions, incorporating creative topics and references to motivate engagement each session. Yulia can also provide instruction in both English and Russian, which enables her to support a wide area of needs. We are very lucky to have her on the team--we hope you have a wonderful birthday, Yulia!

🎉 Happy Birthday to Mariya! 🫶 Mariya was the very first Educational Therapist hired by Turning Points in 2015. We have been very fortunate to have her on our team for over a decade now. 🥳 Her expertise in Making Math Real and Science of Literacy based instruction, mindfulness training, calm and positive demeanor, and the fact that she is fluent in both English and Russian allow her to successfully support a wide variety of students and adults.👏 We hope to work with you for another decade or so, and we hope all of your birthday wishes come true! 🎉
