“Pixels and Pigments” is the culminating group exhibition for students in section 3 of ART 197, BA Senior Project.

Bringing together the diverse work of 20 graduating SJSU art students, it showcases a wide variety of approaches, concepts, materials, and aesthetics and illustrates the strength and breadth of our interdisciplinary program. All the work been independently developed and executed this semester, with the goal of creating an original piece that best describes each artists’ passions, skills, and creativity at this pivotal moment in their artistic journey.

“Play: In Motion”: A showcase of work from ART 47, 147, 149. Presented by the Jewelry and Small Metals classes taught by Yvonne Escalante.

Also showcasing examples from a Department of Design micro grant research project testing Formlabs casting resin to create finished cast work in silver and bronze. Animation and Small Metals and Jewelry, and Mechanical Engineering students and faculty combined forces to identify an interdisciplinary approach to designing and printing for casting in metal.

The 2026 Master of Design Exhibition:
Experience Design (XD) shapes how we encounter the world-where creativity, technology, and human-centered thinking converge to create meaningful interactions.
This exhibition presents the culminating work of the
2026 Master of Design (MDes) students at San José State University. Across digital, physical, and immersive domains, these projects explore new ways of engaging with systems, environments, and one another. Each thesis reflects a deep investigation into human needs, translated into thoughtful, innovative design outcomes.
From reimagining creative tools to supporting behavior change, fostering connection, and enabling independence, this work demonstrates the breadth and impact of experience design today.
