Commoners, this past Sunday (Sept 4th, 2016) ... the Commons put on the most lit brunch party in San Jose at the beautiful De Anza Hotel in San Jose. We were successful in the endeavors that we set out to do ... to kill 30 cases of champagne and to reach Peak Flower Crown.

I'd say that we did a smashing job. See you at the next one!

Are you over basic brunch? Yeah, so are we.

Join the The Commons at the picturesque Hotel De Anza (De Anza Hotel) as we indulge in what we feel is the defining Sunday morning ritual of our generation: brunch. Or, as we are calling it: Mimosa Social Scene.

Reserve your tickets to enjoy a morning of entertainment featuring chill atmospheric music, dance, design and food that will help you recover from the trials of the weekend.

Sunday, September 4th, 2016

The Commons returns to the fountain at St. James Park on Saturday, July 23rd and we are bringing an afternoon of music and dance with us!
https://www.facebook.com/events/815950391839989/

Our first performance went down at St James Park almost two years ago and we have been witness to the changing vibe of the area ever since. There are more people hanging out in the park than ever before. With the fountain stage newly completed, we decided to celebrate the revival of St. James with a special daytime event.

Come through and kick back while enjoying performances from Alan Chen (devilish electric violinist) and Whirl'd (genre defying progressive ... jazz?). Get your culture cred by checking out the ballet set, featuring dancers flossin the technique and artistry instilled via the New Ballet School's intimidatingly named Summer Intensive program. Or you can just come for the pokemon. St. James Park is full of 'em.

Sponsored by Knight Foundation, San Jose Downtown Association, City of San Jose - City Gov't, and San Jose Parks Foundation.

Hey kids,

The Commons returns after a cool minute to bring you another go at our goal to re-contextualize the performing arts. This time around, we are teaming up with the BAMN SQUAD and the Ballet Arts Collective to bring you a dance performance concept that sounds too ridiculous to work ...

Trap Ballet

There will be two performances on Friday, May 20th ... one will be at ticketed event at Da Kine Island Grill starting at 9pm ... and the other will be free, but hosted at currently undisclosed public space location somewhere in downtown San Jose

Thank you to our sponsors: The San Jose Downtown Association, The Knight Foundation, The New Ballet School and San José Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services!
