Bay Area Acting Studio is the premiere acting studio for film and TV for both adults and youth.

BAAS was founded by Christy English, LA talent manager, who studied with Sanford Meisner. Bay Area Acting Studio is a Meisner Technique school that offers a variety of classes and workshops for adults, teens, and kids. Our studio focuses on helping our actors develop their craft to become responsible and reliable actors. Our founder, Christy English, studied with Sanford Meisner for many years, an

Whether you’re brand new to improv or have some experience under your belt, our 5-Week Comedy Improv Class will strengthen your skills while challenging you to take your comedy to the next level.

Over five weeks you’ll learn and practice:
• The foundation of “Yes, And” and how it creates great scenes
• Active listening and reacting truthfully in the moment
• Thinking on your feet without overthinking
• Creating unique, memorable characters instantly
• Building confidence and making bold choices
• Discovering the “game of the scene” and how to heighten it
• Finding patterns and callbacks that make scenes funnier
• Strengthening comedic timing, pacing, and rhythm
• Supporting your scene partners to create stronger ensemble work
• Finding the humor through honesty rather than trying to get laughs
