We are so proud of our Dean of Culture and science teacher Mr. Athavale for this well-deserved award!

We are thrilled to share that KIPP San Jose Collegiate educator Mr. Mihir Athavale has been named a 2023 Yale University Educator Award winner! He was nominated by his former student Annika Braceros, a Kipp Heritage Academy and KSJC alum who is now studying at Yale.

Annika shared: "Mr. A is the epitome of what a teacher should be. He’s great at explaining concepts and makes sure that no student is left behind. I’m immensely grateful to have had him as a teacher."

Happy Lunar New Year! This weekend, many cultures worldwide and in our community will gather to celebrate Lunar New Year. This year is the year of the Rabbit which symbolizes longevity, positivity, auspiciousness, wittiness, cautiousness, cleverness, deftness, and self-protection. It is also the year of the Cat which symbolizes sensitivity, gentleness, and kindness.
