Happy Freedom Day! 🌻❤️💚🖤🌻

JUNETEENTH: After President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation in January 1863, it was another 2 1/2 years before enslaved people in Texas learned they were free.

Today, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur honor that struggle as they continue to work toward justice and dignity for all. https://snddeneastwest.org/our-work/jpic/

The first week of Summer Programs was a success! Students poured into the hallways of campus and excitedly adventured into all things ND. From academic enrichment, to field trips, flag football, art, and so much more. Stay tuned for additional adventures! ☀️

has had an exciting summer project brewing the past couple of weeks. There are 14 rising seniors joining forces with Ms. Emily Cardenas, Sr. Rosalie Pizzo '52, SNDdeN, and consultants deep into the planning and coordination of a historical exhibit celebrating Notre Dame High School's 175th anniversary. Sr. Rosalie recently led a discussion with students sharing her journey from ND graduation in 1952 to becoming Sister of Notre Dame de Namur through her decades of service. We cannot wait to see how the gallery comes together!

Many thanks to Sal Pizarro from the San Jose Mercury News for the coverage on this exciting project:

Also many thanks to Bella '27 and Supriya '27 for creating their adventures in the archives at the California Room in MLK Library. Check out their reel!

students and chaperones recently returned from a glorious Diocesan Youth Retreat in Lake Tahoe! Students spent this time deepening their faith and spiritual lives alongside hundreds of peers who are actively connected to their parish. This retreat was also in celebration of 30 years strong with bringing youth together to uplift and support one another. Blessings to all! 🌻✝️🌿

Notre Dame High School was proud to celebrate Baccalaureate Mass for the Pink & Teal Stingrays in our 175th Anniversary year! Our theme “Led by the Spirit, Changed for Good” was an outpouring of love and prayerful celebration as we gathered at our home away from home, Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph.

Many thanks to our presider and assisting clergy for leading us in prayer: Fr. Ernesto Orci, Fr. Michael Perucho, Deacon Steven Herrera. We also give thanks to our Peer Ministry Leadership Team, campus ministry, music ministry, and Ms. Anushree Rayarikar for their moving contributions. This celebration would also not be complete without the presence of families, loved ones, faculty, and staff.
