The RCP hosted its annual Alternative Spring Break (ASB) week, inviting Stanford and UC Berkeley law students to work alongside RCP advanced students to write court petitions for record clearance. Throughout the week, the law students participated in a community presentation at Elmwood Jail and observed a successful record clearance hearing for RCP clients. Soon, the law student/RCP student teams will complete petitions for eight individuals, changing lives, one petition at a time.

A past mistake shouldn’t define a future. Expungement opens doors to jobs, housing, and peace of mind.

Thank you to Communivercity SJSU for inviting RCP to their anniversary event last Thursday. CommUniverCity (CUC) has supported student assistants at RCP for over a decade.
Project Assistant Sandra Carrillo (left in photo above) and former RCP student / current SJSU grad student Maile Gillis (right in photo above) recently helped CUC celebrate over twenty years of work dedicated to helping underserved communities in San Jose.
Here's to twenty more years of supporting vibrant, healthy communities! 💙

We were thrilled to hear from Karen Rothschild, RCP alumna (2017) and now attorney, recently asking how she could volunteer with the RCP: "I would love to give back to RCP in any way that I can, [RCP] had such a positive impact on my legal career." To catch up, Karen (second from left), attended a community education presentation on Dec 3.
Present were (L to R) Peggy Stevenson, Karen, former RCP lead mentor Victoria Kirschner, RCP Supervising Attorney Ocean Mottley, advanced student Brendan Krepchin, student Elisha Therene, and Project Assistants David Gomez Cruz and Sandra Carrillo.
