Here's a great exercise to help get in golf-shape. This particular exercise helps strengthen shoulders, abs, and chest:
HIGH CABLE ROTATION PRESS:
Stand with your left side next to a high-cable machine with a single handle attached. Grasp handle with left hand, arm outstretched, palm facing forward. Place left foot in front of right, feet hip-width apart, right hand on right hip. Contract abs, lift chest and relax your shoulders, drawing shoulder blades down.
While keeping a soft bend in your left elbow and wrist straight, pull left arm across chest and rotate at waist toward toward right, pushing left arm to the right as you rotate.
Do 15 reps with each arm, increasing weight as you gain strength.

A plaque with these words has hung on Arnold Palmer's office wall for years . . . and the words have been quoted by greats such as insurance magnate Napoleon Hill and automaker Henry Ford.
THE MAN WHO THINKS HE CAN
If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you'd like to win, but you think you can't,
It's almost certain you won't.
If you think you'll lose, you've lost;
For out in the world you'll find
Success begins with a fellow's will;
It's all in the state of mind.
If you think you are outclassed, you are;
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.
Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man;
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the man who things he can.
