Use this video for tips on how to do improv with Right Hand:
RH Improv Types:

1) Vary Note Values
2) Use Neighboring Notes (Above, Below, Near Score Notes)
3) Develop recognizable Melodic Motifs by repeating patterns, repeat phrases
4) Vary the patterns slightly by starting on different notes
5) As you develop, build tension with Faster Notes
6) Use Ornaments such as grace notes and trills
7) Use more Complex patterns as you move forward, utilize chords such as 3rds and 5ths
8) Use Scale passages for drama and interest
9) Vary the area of the piano where you play;
For example, Go up to higher octaves for the development or to create tension
Return down to starting point for resolution
10) Use Octaves and Arpeggios to create drama

Finally back to doing rock improvisation and playing Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. I have wanted to do this rock cover for quite some time as I love the power and struggle in the music.

Wanted to share this cute video of my talented student Shashwat R. who just scored a 85.5 on his first RCM exam. I'm so proud of you Shashwat! He is playing Two Steps from Hell''s Victory at his school talent show; one of my favorite pieces to teach young boys. So cute how the boys heads start bobbing with the music.

Sharing this wonderful 2022 Recital performance from my incredibly talented piano student Monty Z. He's been with me since he was 8 and is so talented. I'm so proud of him! This year he's also performing in 5 musicals. He sings, he dances, and also composes beautiful music!
